Hello, me and my friend are looking to get this game and play together but are confused about microsoft and xbox. My friend has a pc but no xbox, he also has microsoft on his pc but can he play with me on xbox?

From the FAQ: Will the game support cross-play? – Only in spirit. Might come in the future tho, but no promises.
