It just started doing it. I’ve rebooted etc. Was fine yesterday and earlier on. Now it just closes as soon as I try to join my son’s game via split screen.

On Xbox Series X I’m getting exactly the same thing, it was working ok until I downloaded the Buck to the Future pack, wilhich I believe was on the same day as an update.
The point is, local multiplayer will not work, and/or crashes immediately if I do get it working.
On the title screen when it says ‘Hold X to join’ I do so, the X starts filling with green, then it either freezes or just kicks out the game. Very frustrating for my kids.
Come on Devs, please fix asap.

Did any of you have the Stasis Helmet on while trying to play together?

It’s very likely I was wearing the stasis helmet.
Also, I noticed there’s an option to join splitscreen in the pause menu now, so we did it that way instead and it worked fine. That’s not always been there right?

My workaround was to make sure only the first player is signed in. Get them to go into the pause menu.
Turn on the second controller and the option to ‘join splitscreen by holding X ‘ will appear. Do that, sign in, and it joins no issue.
Hmm that’s weird. But we’re def investigating this and trying to fix it.
I’d been wearing the stasis helmet with the power disabled BTW. I just like the look. I’m usually the human Jesus character.
These new items are brilliant btw. I hope you release more stuff like this.
Any chance you could add the ability to choose what your human character looks like? The random thing is great but I’d love to be able to choose.
Yeah we have had issues with the game crashing while wearing the Stasis Helmet and trying to play multiplayer. Don’t ask how lol.

Yes very different and exactly the sort of thing me and my son love doing. We spent so much time at the growing/shrinking machine. We worked out that if you grow yourself and use the satellite thing to absorb and shoot out people or objects, it multiplies their size. So we made a tyre that enveloped half the map.
We live doing experiments with all the gear. There’s so many combinations and the new stuff has added so much more opportunities to create chaos.
I really would love a character creator option for Jesus though.
I think adding global modifier options would be great too. Like messing with gravity, making everyone aggressive, changing physics in various ways.
Anyway, this last dlc has really added more fun and variety and we love it.

Hi, I’ve noticed another issue too.
People and vehicles seem to stop spawning when you hang around in any given area. Cars stop appearing, so do people.
